Pet Entry: Snail Jello

I usually only blog about human food, but hey - pets've gotta eat, too!  If you have a mystery (apple) snail, this is a recipe for you!  It gives your little crawlies a delicious, nutritious, calcium-rich meal.

Snail Jello

Ingredients:
1 jar green bean baby food
1 packet unflavored gelatin
1/2 tsp ReptoCal (or other calcium supplement powder)
1/4 cup finely chopped spinach or spring greens

Directions:
1.  Line a plate with parchment paper (you will be making an approximate 5" X 5" square of food).

2.  In a small bowl, stir the gelatin into the baby food and let sit for two minutes.

3.  Microwave the mixture for 60 seconds.  Stir - stir gently to avoid incorporating any air bubbles.

4.  Gently stir in the calcium and greens.

5.  Pour the mixture onto the parchment paper.  Spread into a 5" X 5" square.

6.  Chill until firm.  Cut into cubes.  The cubes will sink for easy snail feasting!  Keep any extras covered and chilled.
